Transformation Logic

Case Conversion: Change between uppercase, lowercase, or sentence case instantly for social media or coding.

Slugify Tool: Converts text into URL-friendly strings by removing special characters and adding hyphens.

Space Cleaner: Removes double spaces, leading/trailing whitespace, and fixes broken line breaks from PDF copies.

About this tool

This formatter is a Swiss-army knife for messy text: flip between UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, and Sentence case, collapse runaway spaces, repair broken line breaks, or slugify a headline — each with one click. Content editors cleaning pasted copy and developers normalizing data files keep it within reach.

How to Format Text

  1. 1

Paste the text that needs cleaning into the editor — copy from a PDF, a cramped email chain, or a spreadsheet export all work fine.

  2. 2

Choose a transformation: a case conversion, whitespace cleanup, line-break repair, slug generation, or one of the other operations. The result appears next to your text immediately.

  3. 3

To combine operations — fix spacing first, then apply Title Case, for instance — paste the result back into the input and pick the next one. Copy the final version out when it reads right.

Why Format Text with Wrklyst

Local Processing Only
Transformations are simple string operations your browser performs itself; the text you're cleaning never traverses a network connection.
One Click per Fix
Each operation is a single button — no find-and-replace gymnastics or regex knowledge required to fix a wall of badly cased text.
Always Available
The page works the moment it loads, with no login state to maintain and no usage meter counting your conversions.

Text Cleanup Shortcuts

  • Order matters: collapse whitespace before applying a case change, so stray spaces don't produce oddly capitalized fragments.
  • Rescuing an ALL-CAPS rant? Sentence case first, then manually restore proper nouns — faster than retyping.
  • Slugify headlines while drafting, and your URLs will never need renaming after publication.
  • Keep the original in another tab until you're happy; transformations are destructive within the editor.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each significant word — the convention for headlines and book titles — while Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns, as ordinary prose does. Pick Title Case for headings and Sentence case for rescuing text typed in all-caps.

Can it fix text pasted from a PDF?

That's one of its most common jobs. PDFs often inject a line break at the end of every visual line and pad text with irregular spaces; the line-break repair and whitespace cleanup operations rejoin the fragments into flowing paragraphs you can actually reuse.

What does the slugify option produce?

It converts a phrase into a lowercase, hyphen-separated string safe for URLs — "My Summer Trip: Photos & Notes" becomes "my-summer-trip-photos-notes". Accented characters are transliterated and punctuation is dropped, matching what blogging platforms and CMSs expect for permalinks.

Will it change my actual words or just their formatting?

Only presentation changes. Case conversions, spacing cleanup, and break repair rearrange characters' form and surroundings without adding, deleting, or reordering any words — so the meaning survives every transformation untouched, and you can apply them to quotes or legal text without altering substance.
