About this tool
Create QR codes for links, WiFi access, and contact cards — colors adjustable, exported as high-resolution PNG fit for print. One scan replaces typing a URL on a poster, a WiFi password for guests, or contact details at an event.
How to Generate a QR Code
- 1
Choose the payload type: a URL, WiFi network credentials, or a V-Card contact — each encodes with the right structure for phones to act on.
- 2
Enter the details and adjust colors if you're matching a brand, keeping contrast high enough to scan.
- 3
Generate and download the high-resolution PNG, ready for menus, posters, packaging, or slides.
Why Generate QR Codes with Wrklyst
- Generated and Forgotten
- The content you encode is sent to our server, which draws the code and returns it — nothing you encode is stored or reused.
- Print-Grade Output
- High-resolution export means the code stays scannable enlarged on a poster, not just on a screen.
- No Expiring 'Free Tier' Codes
- These are static codes that work forever — unlike services whose free codes stop scanning when the trial ends.
QR Deployment Tips
- Print a test at final size and scan from realistic distance before ordering a thousand menus.
- Put a short caption under every code — 'Scan for menu' converts far better than a naked square.
- Posters viewed from afar need proportionally bigger codes: roughly a 10:1 distance-to-width ratio.
- For campaign links, add UTM parameters to the URL before encoding so scans show up in analytics.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No — the data is encoded directly in the pattern itself, so the code works as long as its content stays valid. This differs from 'dynamic QR' services that route through their servers and can expire or start redirecting when subscriptions lapse. A static code pointing to your URL is yours permanently.
How does a WiFi QR code work?
It encodes the network name, security type, and password in a format phones natively understand — scanning connects the device without anyone typing anything. It's become standard hospitality practice: guests scan a framed code instead of asking, mistyping, and asking again. Reprint the code if you rotate the password.
Why won't my customized QR code scan?
Almost always contrast or size. Scanners need dark modules on a light background — light-on-dark inversions and low-contrast brand palettes defeat many readers. Keep the code dark-on-light, preserve the quiet zone (white margin) around it, and print at least 2×2 cm for arm's-length scanning.
What should a printed QR code link to?
A mobile-friendly destination — the scanner is by definition on a phone. Link to the mobile menu, not a desktop PDF; the signup form, not the homepage; the exact thing promised next to the code. And test the printed code with both iPhone and Android cameras before the print run.
