Frequently asked questions

Are animations or transitions preserved?

PDF is a static format, so animations and transitions are not included. Each slide is captured in its final state.

Can I convert older .ppt files?

We support the modern .pptx format. For older .ppt files, open them in PowerPoint or LibreOffice and save as .pptx first.

Is there a slide limit?

No limits — convert presentations of any length for free.

Why Share Decks as PDF with Wrklyst

Pitch Decks Stay Confidential
Conversion happens on your device — investor decks and internal strategy slides aren't uploaded for processing.
Opens for Every Recipient
No 'I couldn't open the attachment' replies — PDF readers exist on every phone, tablet, and computer made this decade.
Content Locked
Recipients can read but not quietly reuse or alter your slides — the deck circulates as you presented it.

Deck Distribution Tips

  • Send the PDF before a meeting and present from the PPTX — attendees get a readable copy, you keep animations.
  • Delete backup and appendix slides before converting the circulation copy.
  • For printed handouts, convert then print multiple pages per sheet from the PDF viewer.
  • Check slide 1 in the output first — title slides carry the custom fonts most likely to shift.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to animations and slide transitions?

Each slide is captured in its final, fully-revealed state — builds and transitions are presentation-time behaviors PDF doesn't model. A slide whose bullets appear one by one shows all bullets. If sequential reveal matters in the document version, split those builds across separate slides before converting.

Are speaker notes included in the PDF?

The conversion renders the slides themselves — the audience view — so notes stay private, which is usually exactly right for distribution. It also means the PDF won't serve as your own presenter reference; keep the original deck for delivering the talk and the PDF for sharing it.

Why do fonts look different in my converted deck?

Decks built with fonts that aren't available at render time get substitutions, which can alter text width and wrapping. Corporate template fonts are frequent culprits. Sticking to widely available typefaces — or checking the converted output before sending — avoids surprises on decorative titles.

Can recipients extract my slides from the PDF?

The PDF deters casual reuse — slides aren't directly editable objects anymore — but determined recipients can convert or screenshot content; no shared file is truly locked. For sensitive decks, combine PDF conversion with our Protect PDF tool and a password, and share selectively.
